Supercar status of the Audi R8 is undisputed, with its dramatic appearance and noisy sounds. However, despite the Rockstar act of R8 to drive a very accessible, comfortable car. For the 2015 model year a few new look and feel elements to further improve this proven sports car.
The entry R8 is still a 420-hp, 4.2-liter V-8-powered coupe, convertible or paired with a Spyder. The 525-hp, 5.2-liter V-10 coupe and Spyder also contribute in 2015, all 2015 R8 share updated appearance and interior, mostly minor improvements, but together a visual refinement of design.
Comfort and objects in the interior are usually coupe minimal, but at the same time, more than sufficient. Audi MMI navigation with real-time traffic, Bluetooth, and excellent audio coverage of the expected bases. The seats and cabin space will encourage you the time to enjoy spend there. And even if the load space is a bit limited, it is still one of the most practical super or super sports car around.
The 2015 Audi R8 has not yet been crash-tested by official bodies, but with Audi full design and specification of a modern security suite rooms, including two-stage airbags, knee airbags, head-thorax airbags, stability control, rear view camera, and much more, to reduce the consequences of an impact.
Rated as high as 14/23 mpg city / highway with the 4.2-liter V-8 and dual-clutch gearbox or as low as 12/19 mpg with the 5.2-liter V-10 and manual transmission, the Audi R8 isn 't exactly green, even for a vehicle of this caliber performance.
The best change that came out last year, was the replacement of the existing S Tronic transmission with a new dual clutch unit. No more balky and uncooperative, the R8 dual clutch is now the favorite gear - unless you really want to row your own gears. In his prediction of the downshifts and his steady, rapid upshift, and the wheels can skip directly to the multiple return inquiries almost sentient, is now the new gear is a must-have for all but the purists. For the whole, there is a six-speed manual transmission.
Also new in the past year was the V10 Plus model that the standard R8 V10 525 horsepower is increased at a slightly intoxicating 550 hp. This is still not outrageous in these days of 650-plus horsepower muscle cars, but combined with the weight savings over the standard V-10-powered car, the R8 V10 plus as quick as the V-8-powered R8. Together, the extra power and lightness make him a standout performer, especially when combined with the new dual-clutch transmission.
